Monica Migliorino Miller, PhD., founder of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and author of “Abandoned: The Untold Story of the Abortion Wars,” will be the featured speaker at CIRTL's 2025 Life and Freedom Rally at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25.

Dr. Miller has been involved in the pro-life movement since 1976, just three years after the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling legalized abortion in all 50 states for the next several decades. She has been involved in sidewalk counselling as well as abortion clinic rescues and has engaged in the daunting task of burying babies killed by abortion.

Her latest book is “In the Beginning: Crucial Lessons for Our World from the First Three Chapters of Genesis.”

I was able to speak with her recently about her past pro-life efforts and views on the current state of pro-life activism.

AmP: What would you say is your primary activity right now as far as pro-life work goes?

Monica Miller: We have a lot of moms that we talked out of abortion in Detroit, so a lot of our activity and frankly, most of our expenses, are going to the moms that we continue to support. And then, of course we have been involved in Red Rose Rescues pretty heavily since 2017.
