Prayer preserves Post family after traumatic accident

Prayer was the first response when three members of the Post family of Peoria were in an accident in December.

Many believers in the central Illinois Christian community have been brought together in prayer and support for the Post family, some of whom were involved in a horrific accident in December. This post talks about the spiritual war the family fought. The next post will focus on their healing and renewal.

PEORIA—When Aiden Post and his father, Jon, were critically injured in a two-vehicle accident on Dec. 14 in rural McDonough County, their family knew exactly where to go.

To their knees. In prayer.

Friends maintained the prayer while the Posts were in the hospital in Macomb and then in Peoria.

“We recognized there was spiritual warfare going on,” said Chase Coleman, Jon’s stepson. “We were intentional. There was not a moment someone wasn’t in their rooms praying. People would swap out in the rooms. We extended that to all people who entered that room. We didn’t need people wailing or worried.”
