Helping Hands helps shoppers find values and charities find support
Four central Illinois locations bless local charities with proceeds each month.
Buying that second-hand Christmas decoration or a toy still in its original packaging at Helping Hands Resale Shoppes doesn’t just save you some money. You’ll be helping ministries and other nonprofits in the area. And maybe make some friends, besides.
Helping Hands, with locations in Chillicothe, Peoria Heights, Canton, and Pontiac, gives monthly proceeds to local nonprofits. Two beneficiaries—Crossword Cafe in Chillicothe and Small World Connections—always get 25 percent of a month’s income. The other 50 percent of the month goes to local nonprofits that have applied for and been accepted by Helping Hands, such as South Side Mission, Royal Family Kids Camp, or the Peoria Humane Society. While each store gives to CrossWord Cafe and Small World Connections, the third beneficiary is unique to their location.
