PEORIADream Center Peoria gives homeless families and individuals a path to resurrect their lives.

“We are just broken people helping broken people, and it is tough most of the time,” said Kristy Schofield, director of Homeless and Housing at DCP, based at 714 Hamilton Blvd. “Families come into DCP on what may be one of the worst days of their lives.”

That’s been especially true this winter, with homelessness in the Peoria area increasing and reaching a crisis stage with cold weather and changes in laws regarding encampments.
