Sermon series is Better for a year at St. Paul Baptist
The year-long sermon series called Better addresses issues raised by congregation members, but it took a staff to make it happen.
PEORIA—The congregation of St. Paul Baptist Church is getting better this year.
As in a year-long sermon series called Better.
The series kicked off as 2024 began and will wrap up at the year’s end, culminating an effort that involved leadership, staff, volunteers, and, ultimately, the whole congregation.
Pastor Deveraux Hubbard, the lead pastor at St. Paul, 114 W. Forrest Hill, didn’t decide on the 2024 series until November 2023.
That meant staff had to work fast to have the first quarter’s journals ready in January.
But the church has pulled it off, now steering its way through the final quarter of Better and even getting ready for a year-long sermon series for 2025 called Live, which will focus on having life more abundantly.
